My Valentine's Week

linking with poetic winter challenge:  passion
My valentines week was pretty good, my husband Chuck bought me a rose (he hasn't given me flowers in 4 years, so this was a big deal) and then we went up to visit my family one more time before baby comes.  It was nice and Lucy always has so much fun playing with her cousins.

(me on the left at 32 weeks, my sister on the right at 40 weeks)

My sister and I have been pregnant together this time around, it's great to be able to share this experience with her.  I wanted to make sure to get some pics because who knows if this will ever happen again.

Man, I really do look like a whale, but I love it.

I Heart Faces: Hearts

The other day I was trying to figure out something fun to do with my kid.  Since we are broke and have no extra money for valentine decorations, I thought of cutting out little hearts with construction paper (that's about as crafty as I get), and then letting my daughter Lucy color them in and stick them on the wall by herself.

She is so proud of her "heartbeats" (which is what she calls hearts).

Some Selfies with Baby Bump

I set up the tripod the other day and had Lucy press the shutter button for me, it's been awhile since I've had photos taken of me and the baby bump.

She cut my head off in this one, but I kind of like it.  Look how long my hair is getting too, thanks to all the pregnancy hormones.  I should still go in for a trim though.

Hello, here I am!

Whoa, helllooo baby!  Me at 30 weeks.

Did self-timer for these, but I think Lucy had a lot of fun being on the other side of the camera for once.

Won't be too much longer now, we can't wait to meet you.

linking with sweet violet photography for favorite

We treat ourselves to coffee about once a week at the local coffee shop in town, so sometimes if the weather is nice enough we walk.

The coffee special that day was a raspberry truffle latte, and it was really calling my name.  But then I thought about how much more money it is, not to mention the extra calories.  I'm already 30 pounds up with 10 weeks to go, more or less (hopefully less).  So I was a good girl and just got a decaf with cream (well, mostly decaf, I add in a little caf for flavor).

(My girl's eyes peeking out from my enormous belly)

But now the sweet cravings are calling, especially donuts.  Oh boy do I crave donuts!  And cake, brownies, cinnamon rolls, etc...  These pregnancy cravings are cute now, but I'm afraid I won't be able to get them under control after baby comes, and turn into a huge donut blimp or something.  So I decided that I'm going to try real hard and hold out till Sunday to eat something bready and sweet.

And I think I will treat myself to one fancy coffee drink, maybe after baby comes to celebrate.

linking up with poetic winter photo challenge:  solitude

Time has just been flying by lately, I seem to be going about in a sort of haze.  I guess these early months filled with cloudy days do that to a person.

And being 30 weeks pregnant.

And being tired but not being able to get comfortable enough to fall asleep.

Not complaining too much though, this pregnancy (after morning sickness) has been pretty enjoyable, more so than the last time.

I've been gaining weight like crazy (more than I should) but it seems to all be going in the stomach and chest area, with some minor puffiness everywhere else.  I can still wear my wedding rings so I guess that's a good sign?  But my sugar and bread cravings are just terrible.  Oh well, Lent will be here soon, and since I can't fast this year, giving up sweets seems to be the answer to that problem.  I hope.

I need to take another bump photo of myself, not much time left before baby arrives.  So much to do, cleaning out all the baby stuff.  And crazy spit up stains, Lucy was a huge spitter, like projectile vomit kind of spitter.  How does one get those out anyway?

I'm really loving these little bang wisps Lucy has now, and I did not cut them in, they are au natural.  So cute, I wish I could cut bangs, but I can't, which is why I let them grow out in the first place.

Oh, and drinking my husband's Mountain Dew late at night not a good idea, the sugar and caffeine mix is making baby go crazy.  Would not be surprised if a baby foot popped through my stomach right now.  Not that I'm blaming the kid, it's my own fault.  I feel so ashamed.

The End.
